WHERE WE WORK
1. In the Field of Education – A Dedicated Primary School for Tribal Children
Sanjeevani Social Welfare Society’s flagship education initiative is a primary school located in Suarsot village, situated in the Nagwan Block of Sonbhadra District, Uttar Pradesh – a region predominantly inhabited by tribal communities. Approximately 28% of the total population here belongs to Scheduled Tribes, which is significantly higher than the national average of 7.5%. This school currently serves over 400 children from marginalized backgrounds including Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Castes, and other backward communities. The school offers free and inclusive education, following a child-friendly approach that includes teaching through activities, local language use, music, storytelling, and play-based learning. The school’s objective goes beyond literacy – it focuses on building confidence, self-respect, and foundational life skills in children, preparing them to become responsible citizens. Regular parent-teacher meetings, community sensitization sessions, health check-up camps, and awareness programs are also part of the initiative.
2. Mobile Clinic – Bringing Healthcare to the Doorsteps of the Vulnerable
Government healthcare services are largely inaccessible in the interior tribal villages of Sonbhadra. To bridge this gap, Sanjeevani has launched a Mobile Clinic Service that reaches underserved tribal villages on a scheduled basis. The mobile clinic provides free primary healthcare, including general consultations, child and maternal care, malnutrition screening, medicine distribution, immunization awareness, and minor treatments. Additionally, the team conducts awareness sessions on topics such as hygiene, nutrition, addiction prevention, menstrual health, and communicable diseases. This initiative has brought reliable medical services to the doorstep of remote communities, significantly improving their health-seeking behavior and health outcomes.
3. Health Care Centre – Multistate Access from Varanasi
Sanjeevani’s Health Care Centre in Varanasi caters not only to children from various parts of Uttar Pradesh but also to those coming from neighboring states like Jharkhand and Bihar. The center provides specialized pediatric services, with a team of experienced child specialists, physiotherapists, speech therapists, and behavioral therapists. Children with cognitive, developmental, or physical disabilities receive assessments and individualized treatment plans. The center offers these services at highly subsidized rates or free of cost to families from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, ensuring affordable, accessible, and dignified healthcare.
4. Therapy & Rehabilitation Centre – A dedicated initiative for regional Divyaangjans
Sanjeevani newly built state-of-the-art ‘Therapy & Rehabilitation Centre’ will soon provide services to differently abled children and adults from Uttar Pradesh as well as states like Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, and West Bengal.
